House House Rules

House House Rule

None of these rules are meant to restrict anything, most of them are just common sense.

  1. First time you are at our place you are treated as a guest. After that, you are on your own to find the glasses, garbage pail, bathroom, etc. There is a quiz when you arrive for your second visit that helps to refresh your memory :-)
  2. Please keep in mind that we have a septic system and therefore remind everyone to please only put toilet paper in the bowl.
  3. We are a smoke free house.
  4. We occasionally have alcoholic beverages when we play, especially in my once a month group. We have never had a case of over indulgence but we firmly reserve the right to relieve you of your mode of transportation if we feel that you are not in a state to handle it. If you can't agree to this, well, you can't have any alcohol. We provide facilities to get you to the point where you can get home, such as copious amounts of coffee, tea, bucket of water over head, etc. or a place to crash for a while or night. We have actually done this before, but it has been years and it was at a party, not a gaming session.
  5. We ask that you bring snacks and drink, if you wish. It's not a requirement in any way and we usually have a little something available but generally don't supply food and drink all the time, well except for water.
  6. Just so that you know, we usually have diet soda available since I'm a diabetic, but almost never have regular soda in the house. If you do bring any non-diet beverage that will not last till the next session, we ask that you take it with you since we don't drink it (sugar filled ones that is). Better that you have and enjoy it than us throwing it away when it goes bad.
  7. Also, we are more than happy to make tea or coffee for anyone who would like that type of drink.
  8. We ask that you help tidy up after we are done, since 6 people make it go a lot quicker. This does not include washing the dishes, but generally the dining room, which is where we play. Only takes a couple of minutes to put away the minis, props, folding tables, collect the books together, etc.
  9. There are some rules governing the kids, but they won't be necessary for this group.
  10. Language. We ask that if the kids are up, that everyone be mindful of their language. We try to set a good example for them, but if they are asleep, occasional slippages are alright.
  11. Parking. You're more than welcome to park in the driveway. The only thing we ask is that you don't block one of our cars (preferable the van) from being able to get out, in case of an emergency. There is more than enough room for everyone to park at the bottom. If you prefer, you can always park at the top of the driveway on the street.

The following are pictures of the gaming area where we play. The first is a long shot from the entrance to the area.

This shot shows the actual game area a little closer up.

This is a shot from the corner of the entry way to the game area.

This shot is from the other corner of the area. Both this shot and the previous one area from the end of the table furthest from the DM. The DM sits in front of the door that is shown.

Another shot from the middle of the table setup. The DM is seated to the left at the 2' x 4' table while the players are seated around the two 2.5' x 6' tables.
